speed issue

I signed up  for 1 GB program and have had the internet since last 10 days. Unfortuanately I have not been able to get wireless speeds above 500 mbps on mobile and less than 300 mbps on my laptop even when I am in the same room where the modem is situated. Feel like I am being taken for a ride by Xfinity ! No way to even talk to anyone on the phone. Went through chat twice and still no resolution.  Hope someone can help.

  •   Click the "Direct Message" icon 
  •   Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  •   The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
  •   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  •   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
  •   Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  •   Press Enter to send it
