Social security and birth date

I had some issues with a new phone and to verify my account I was asked to give FULL SS# AND date of birth. I refused.   There is no reason why you cant  give the last 4 digits likev99

9% others do.  I refused to comply.. In this day and age with identity theft, I refuse to give out that info to a call center located in some 3rd world country.  Xfinity needs to get on board and correct this.  If my accounts get hacked I'll know who to hold responsible.

Good afternoon, @Sidekick5! Thanks for reaching out about account security and your concerns with that. Was this for a new Xfinity mobile phone line? I ask because when I chatted with the Xfinity Mobile team, they sent me a link where I was able to securely enter the information instead of having to tell them. When you enter it, our system verifies it, and our agents do not get to see/verify what was entered to help keep things secure.
