So frustrated as a customer

Today I spent an hour and 13 minutes on the phone with Xfinity support trying to lower my monthly bill.  The first guy told me he guaranteed he could lower my bill and for close to an hour we went over several options and he assured me I would not lose any of the current service I had.  We finally settled on a plan and amount and he said he would transfer me to someone else who would do a “Verbal” to make sure I had everything I wanted. The person he transferred me to had no idea what he meant and finally transferred me to someone else in retention.  I basically had to start completely over again and explain what I had just been told.  The lady in retention told me that everything the other guy said was not true and that she couldn’t lower my bill at all and my only option was to cancel service.  I almost did cancel due to how frustrated and disappointed I was. I can’t believe any company can be ran this way with customer support completely lying to their customers and wasting their time with promotions that are not even available.  I’ve had similar experiences to this in my over 30 years of being a Comcast/Xfinity customer. There is no loyalty at all to customers like me from Xfinity.  I am now looking into other options, but all I really wanted for was to be able to get my bill a little lower with Comcast so I could afford to keep the service I have had for 30 plus years. The retention department used to work with you and be understanding but now they act like they don’t care about you at all.  I’m very disappointed with Xfinity.
