Shubham insists the only way to remove my phone number is by reporting abuse

This is how the support is?? I have a new number and I am getting all of someone's Xfinity account related texts.

Shubham from customer service insists the only way to remove my phone number from someone else's account is by filling a fraud report through the Report Abuse link.

This is absolutely infuriating. I explained over and over this is not fraud. He waits 35 minutes before responding to the next message, we've been on the chat for over 2 hours now. None of the ticket reasons on the Report Abuse link apply to my situation. I just want my phone number removed form someone's account because I am not an Xfinity customer and I am getting someone else's Xfinity notifications!!

The person before him told me they would go ahead and get the person's service disconnected and then left the chat! That one felt malicious. I can't stand this company and this is exactly why I am not a customer.

tired-of-being-scammed I am very sorry your number is linked to someone's account. The fastest way is for them to remove your number from their account. Do you know or have contact with the person that has the account? Do to account privacy we cannot make changes to someone's account unless it is the account holder reaching out. That is why they suggested the Fraud claim.

@XfinityVictor No I simply got a new phone number that used to belong to someone else.  I am not on the account and it seems a lot worse that they would go ahead and disconnect the person's internet when I'm telling them I have no connection to that account.  Do I have authority to cancel someone's internet services just because I am the new phone number owner? If you can't even remove my phone number I find it odd that you'd disconnect someone's internet as an alternative option.

tired-of-being-scammed No I am sorry that was even mentioned. In the first place we do a 2-step security verification on every account before any changes can be made, or account information can be discussed. Is your current number with us?

OK, then we are unable to do anything regarding these notifications. Since we have no way to access the account holders account we cannot alter or delete your number. Does your provide have a way to block spam calls or messages?

Question.. when you say 2 factor authentication has to happen, do you mean like such as a text to the phone number on the account ?
