Serviceability

Hello,

I am requesting a technical review of my homes internet serviceability. I used to be an Xfinity customer for over 9 years.

I have contacted Xfinity several times (including within the hour) since Feb 2026 regarding my new address and was recently told that the notes on my current address state that my home is "too far away from the tap". This is the first time I hear about this, since my tickets are always closed and I am never informed why. However, I have verified that the homes immediately surrounding my property have existing Xfinity accounts, including homes to the east, west, and south of my house (all are within less than 300 feet from me). My home was built in 2022, and the houses surrounding me are either 2001, or very newly built (2023, 2024, 2025). Given the existing service at these nearby properties, I would like actual clarification about the specific network limitations preventing service at my address.

I am requesting:

1) To open a formal serviceability ticket and provide the ticket number

2) Refer my case to the appropriate local outside-plant engineering or construction team.

3)Verify the location of the nearest usable tap and explain how the distance limitation was determined.

4) Determine whether a field survey could establish whether my property can be connected to the existing network

5) If construction is required, provide a detailed explanation of the work needed and an estimate of customer contribution.

I understand that nearby homes having service doesn't guarantee that my property will, however i would appreciate an individualized technical review than a general explanation.

I am interested in once again becoming an Xfinity customer.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hello @user_ls933i, Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your day to leave a post on our community forum, and we would be happy to help. If you could send our team a direct message with your full name and address, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you. Click "Sign In" (If necessary). Click the "Direct Messaging" Icon. Click the "Start New Conversation" (pencil and paper) icon. In the “To:” line, type "Xfinity Support". As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window. Press Enter to send it. How to: Direct Message Within The Forum.
