Serviceability Hold

Hi, I am a new resident at this address and I’m trying to activate Xfinity Internet service. I was informed at an Xfinity store today that there is a serviceability hold on my apartment because the previous resident left an unpaid balance of approximately $1,100.

I have no relationship with the previous resident and this debt is not mine. I can provide my current lease agreement, photo ID, and documentation showing my previous address.

I would like to have the serviceability hold reviewed and removed so I can activate my Internet service. If necessary, could you please open a ticket for the address and let me know if I can submit my proof of residency electronically?

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

user_drogo9, thanks so much for reaching out to us through the Xfinity Forums. I would be happy to help.

Please send us a DM with your name and address.

Here are the detailed steps to direct message us:

1. Click "Sign In" if necessary.

2. Click the “Direct Messaging” icon.

3. Click the “Start new conversation” (pencil and paper) icon.

4. In the “To:" line, type “Xfinity Support”.

5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select “Xfinity Support” from that list.

6. An “Xfinity Support” graphic will replace the “To:" line.
