Service Outage

Hi, I have been experiencing a service outage for roughly 24 hours in my location. I've signed up for text alerts and have been tracking the estimated time for service restoration. However, these estimates are continually being pushed back further, without any additional information being provided.

Given that I work from home and need internet access, I was hoping that there might be some additional information that could be provided so that we have a more accurate estimate on when our service will be restored.

HI there @user_9a7459 thank you for reaching out to Xfinity on our Forums! I am terribly sorry to hear about the service interruption you are experiencing. This is absolutely not the experience we intend to provide, and I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for you.

The best way to keep track of our restoration progress, is through the Xfinity My Account App, or our website here. Both the Xfinity My Account App and our website will provide you with any estiamted restoral time if one is available. You will also have the option to sign up for text message notifications, that alert you when services are restored in your area.

Even as a Corporate Agent, I do not have any extra information regarding a service interruption. The same information you see in the Xfinity My Account App and our website is the same information we have on this end. We do this in an effort to be more transparent, and share any information we have directly with customers, so there is no reason to reach out to an agent for information that we provide directly to you through the Xfinity My Account App and our website.

This is because Comcast/Xfinity outsources their customer service to India. None of these reps haven’t a clue what’s happening locally (nor do they care).

What’s worse is that Xfinity doesn’t explain the problem. I also work remotely and depend on Xfinity internet for my livelihood. I’m located in Nevada County, CA. Granted, we’ve been hit with a terrible winter storm, but PG&E [Edited: Inflammatory] has successfully restored our power. Xfinity doesn’t provide a clue as to why or when they will restore service. Every estimate of restoration has been total [Edited: Language]. [Edited: Inflammatory]
