Service being denied due to previous tenant balance

My daughter and her husband are moving into a new apartment and need to set up internet access through Comcast/Xfinity. Xfinity told them that the previous tenant has an unpaid balance (and according to the landlord, that was not the only issue). Xfinity said that they would not be able to provide service to that location because of the previous tenant not paying their bill/s. What can my daughter and son-in-law do so that they can get the service set up? My daughter needs internet access for her job. The closest Xfinity store is over 2 hours away, so going to talk to someone in person would be very difficult to do at this time.

She will need to prove that she is the current tenant with no connection to the past tenant.  A lease/rental agreement, photo ID with current address, or a utility bill with the current address.

I am escalating this for further help.

Greetings, @oikos! I appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us here on the forums. I hope you are having an amazing day! I certainly apologize to hear of the issues your daughter is having with trying to get Comcast services set up. From what Again had explained is true. We would need to get proof that they are the new tenant and are not connected with the pas tenant. I would like to see what we can do to get things patched up for them. Can you please send me a PM with yours and her's first/last names so we can further assist you?
