Scripp’s

We are deeply disappointed that Scripps and Xfinity have failed to resolve your contract dispute. Every day this drags on, you are not just losing a channel — you are losing customers. Our loyalty to both of your businesses is not unconditional, and this standoff is testing it. Respected companies do not hold their viewers hostage over negotiating failures. Resolve this now, before your customers resolve it for you by walking away permanently.

@user_wit07e Thanks for reaching out about the loss of channels owned by E. W. Scripps. This programming is currently unavailable as Comcast’s agreement with the network has expired. Please know Comcast pays programmers to bring you the entertainment you love, and a number of reasonable offers have been made that they haven’t accepted. Comcast is working toward bringing back this programming, but only with fair pricing, terms, and conditions for customers. I know unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be frustrating, and I apologize for any inconvenience. For more information, visit https://www.xfinity.com/programmingchanges.

If their offer was "reasonable enough" for Direct TV, it's good enough for Xfinity/Comcast!

@user_tglihb,

Hi there! Thanks for taking the time out of your Wednesday to reach out. I can completely understand, and I’m truly sorry for the impact this has had. Especially for your mother. You’re right that streaming just isn’t a reasonable option for everyone, and I appreciate you being clear about that. To provide some context, the programming agreement between E. W. Scripps and Comcast (Xfinity) expired on March 31, 2026, at 5:59 p.m. ET. As a result, Comcast is no longer authorized to carry Scripps programming, including ABC and related content on live TV, Xfinity Stream, or On Demand. Comcast did make offers to continue carrying the programming under fair terms, but those offers were not accepted, which led to the current dispute. Customers were notified of the change, and work is ongoing in hopes of reaching a new agreement that brings the channels back as soon as possible. May I ask if you are seeing a banner on the TV indicating that Comcast and Scripps are currently in negotiations? In situations like this, once an agreement is reached, the channel typically returns automatically without any action needed on your end. That said, I genuinely understand why you feel the need to make a change for your mother, and I’m sorry this situation played out this way. Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective, and I wish you and your mother all the best moving forward. Before you make the shift, would you be open to doing an account review for temporary alternatives or to see whether any credits or adjustments may be available during this disruption?

And how is your contract expiring our problem? IF we fail to pay you then you turn off or suspend our services, but what happens if you dont live up to your end of the contract? Stop reading from level 1 tech guides when giving responses to users on your forums, its patronizing and annoying. I bet even tho we are losing Fanduel for sports you still charge us a regional sports fee? We have no way to stream new sports channels as they use MLB app. You lock out streaming on the Xfinity Stream app.

Xfinity needs to do better, you have had a horrible customer service reputation for years and the only reason you have as many subscribers as you do is due to non competitive areas.

As a fellow Xfinity customer, I agree 100% with the above comment.  We have a contract with Xfinity and if Xfinity is not delivering what was contracted there should be compensation to subscribers.  If not, maybe Xfinity customers should join together with a class action lawsuit.

Fix it. I can always get nbc channels—I don’t always have to do that trough Comcast/Xfinity.

Been an xfinity customer since 1999, but if this doesn't get resolved REAL SOON, I have no problem walking away from Xfinity. Their pricing has gotten out of control over the years anyway, and honestly service has gotten worse. So might be time for a change.

This is exactly my sentiment! We pay way too much already for xfinity  services that are provided by other platforms and providers at less expensive monthly fees. My bill is way over my comfort level. I’ve been with Comcast/xfinity for 35 years. I’ve been a loyal customer, paying more than most, and now this latest dispute with Scripps is my last straw. It’s on me now, can’t complain if I remain with xfinity.
I definitely cannot wrap my head around how our fee would increase , when we already pay so much. Don’t feel this is an attempt to “look out for their existing customers” as they pretend.
im out!

Existing customers do not matter to Xfinity.  They are eager to bring on new customers at great deals and the long term, loyal customers get [Edited: "Language"].  I'm with you... need to go elsewhere.  We're up to $347.00 per month and we have tried many times to talk wuth them just to hear that we are grandfathered into an old plan and switching to a new one wiil be greater than wg=hat we currently pay.  What a racket.  Xfinity cannot be trusted.

RESOLVE THIS ISSUE XFINITY QUICKLY AND BRING WTVR ABC CHANNEL 6 BACK1

This is ridiculous. There was no notification that we would be losing programming. As much as I pay for Xfinity, I should be able to watch free local channels. Get your act together Xfinity, there are many other options out there and this pushes me (and probably many others) to look into them.

I agree! I tried calling Xfinity but when it was all said & done I got a one time $30 discount on each of my cable bill & mobile! When my cable is $330 & mobile is $260 it doesn’t make a big difference. I’m in the process of find a different alternative!

If Xfinity (Comcast) & Scripps do not work this out, let me just say goodbye to my cable!  I will not be held hostage from watching WXYZ which is one of the only channels I ever watch!  This is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated by many people!!!!!!!  I already have many frustrations with Xfinity and this will be the last straw!!!!  Get this fixed NOW!!!!

Please fix this asap as it is completely unacceptable. Local stations should always be available where you live but you companies never care about the consumers, only the dollar. I will be calling for a discount on my service for every day this dispute is happening. So ready to find a provider that cares about my time more than their own.

Thanks for your feedback, user_3ngkak. We understand this situation has been frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it has caused. At this time, we’re unable to offer credits or refunds; however, we will reassess this if we’re unable to reach an agreement with E. W. Scripps. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

I don't see the rationale about not offering credits--we are not getting service we paid for, so we should get partial credit for that loss of service. It wasn't our fault!  And if we can use alternative sources to watch the channels we cant get, then what's to stop us from just dropping Xfinity and using those sources? Saying it's all Scripps' fault is ingenuous at best, dishonest at worst. Comcast had to know that this would happen, and it was up to the company to avoid it. A responsible company would have protected its customers before this happened.

Do not understand why these companies cannot seriously work things out  before having customers pulled into their mess!   I'm ready to "cut the cord".  Xfinity has gotten so incredibly expensive and then having to deal with this mess.   So disappointed.

I expect a credit for each day that this goes on!!! I am paying for services I am not receiving, not to mention I just had to add an additional $20.00 a month to watch the Detroit Tigers.  This is absolutely insane......

If this goes on too long I will be dropping Xfinity TV and be switching to HULU live. I already signed up for a free trial and so far I am finding everything I need with HULU live. So be prepared for me to be dropping off all the tv boxes and remotes at an Xfinity store.

When will ABC channels return?  I will be switching to another cable, internet, and phone company if they do not return.  I have been a valuable, loyal customer for over 20 years.  This is a horrible decision and you will lose many, many customers.

Are you seeing a banner on your tv about Comcast being in negotiation with ABC?  If so, you'll just have to wait it out.  They will eventually come to an agreement and your ABC channels will return.

@user_u13u68,

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. I can understand why you’d feel that way as someone who watches ABC myself, and I appreciate you sharing your feedback. I do want to clarify that ABC programming hasn’t been fully removed from Xfinity for customers in Kentucky. Are you in Kentucky by chance? As of March 25, WBKO ABC (the SD feed on channels 13 and 1013) is no longer available. However, ABC is still accessible through other local affiliates, including:

  • WEHT (ABC) on channel 11 and HD channels 431 / 1025
  • WHAS (ABC) on channel 11 and HD channels 431 / 1011

Customers impacted by the WBKO channel change were notified through a message on their bill prior to the update. Because ABC content is still available through these other local stations, we’re not able to offer free access to Hulu at this time. That said, I completely understand how channel changes can be frustrating, and your feedback is important. If you’d like help finding ABC programming on your guide, updating favorites, or reviewing alternate viewing options, we'd be happy to assist.

NOT in KY.   In CO where all ABC is unavailable on xfinity, ALL ABC live and streaming give banner that content is NOT available.   So yes, customers in ALL the states affected should be given alternate access to what we've paid for!

I will expect a refund on my monthly tv bill if you do not get these channels back. They are only channels I watch anymore.

Please make some kind of deal with them!!
