Scripp’s

We are deeply disappointed that Scripps and Xfinity have failed to resolve your contract dispute. Every day this drags on, you are not just losing a channel — you are losing customers. Our loyalty to both of your businesses is not unconditional, and this standoff is testing it. Respected companies do not hold their viewers hostage over negotiating failures. Resolve this now, before your customers resolve it for you by walking away permanently.

@user_wit07e Thanks for reaching out about the loss of channels owned by E. W. Scripps. This programming is currently unavailable as Comcast’s agreement with the network has expired. Please know Comcast pays programmers to bring you the entertainment you love, and a number of reasonable offers have been made that they haven’t accepted. Comcast is working toward bringing back this programming, but only with fair pricing, terms, and conditions for customers. I know unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be frustrating, and I apologize for any inconvenience. For more information, visit https://www.xfinity.com/programmingchanges.

If their offer was "reasonable enough" for Direct TV, it's good enough for Xfinity/Comcast!

@user_tglihb,

Hi there! Thanks for taking the time out of your Wednesday to reach out. I can completely understand, and I’m truly sorry for the impact this has had. Especially for your mother. You’re right that streaming just isn’t a reasonable option for everyone, and I appreciate you being clear about that. To provide some context, the programming agreement between E. W. Scripps and Comcast (Xfinity) expired on March 31, 2026, at 5:59 p.m. ET. As a result, Comcast is no longer authorized to carry Scripps programming, including ABC and related content on live TV, Xfinity Stream, or On Demand. Comcast did make offers to continue carrying the programming under fair terms, but those offers were not accepted, which led to the current dispute. Customers were notified of the change, and work is ongoing in hopes of reaching a new agreement that brings the channels back as soon as possible. May I ask if you are seeing a banner on the TV indicating that Comcast and Scripps are currently in negotiations? In situations like this, once an agreement is reached, the channel typically returns automatically without any action needed on your end. That said, I genuinely understand why you feel the need to make a change for your mother, and I’m sorry this situation played out this way. Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective, and I wish you and your mother all the best moving forward. Before you make the shift, would you be open to doing an account review for temporary alternatives or to see whether any credits or adjustments may be available during this disruption?

And how is your contract expiring our problem? IF we fail to pay you then you turn off or suspend our services, but what happens if you dont live up to your end of the contract? Stop reading from level 1 tech guides when giving responses to users on your forums, its patronizing and annoying. I bet even tho we are losing Fanduel for sports you still charge us a regional sports fee? We have no way to stream new sports channels as they use MLB app. You lock out streaming on the Xfinity Stream app.

Xfinity needs to do better, you have had a horrible customer service reputation for years and the only reason you have as many subscribers as you do is due to non competitive areas.

As a fellow Xfinity customer, I agree 100% with the above comment.  We have a contract with Xfinity and if Xfinity is not delivering what was contracted there should be compensation to subscribers.  If not, maybe Xfinity customers should join together with a class action lawsuit.

Fix it. I can always get nbc channels—I don’t always have to do that trough Comcast/Xfinity.

Been an xfinity customer since 1999, but if this doesn't get resolved REAL SOON, I have no problem walking away from Xfinity. Their pricing has gotten out of control over the years anyway, and honestly service has gotten worse. So might be time for a change.

This is exactly my sentiment! We pay way too much already for xfinity  services that are provided by other platforms and providers at less expensive monthly fees. My bill is way over my comfort level. I’ve been with Comcast/xfinity for 35 years. I’ve been a loyal customer, paying more than most, and now this latest dispute with Scripps is my last straw. It’s on me now, can’t complain if I remain with xfinity.
I definitely cannot wrap my head around how our fee would increase , when we already pay so much. Don’t feel this is an attempt to “look out for their existing customers” as they pretend.
im out!

This is ridiculous. There was no notification that we would be losing programming. As much as I pay for Xfinity, I should be able to watch free local channels. Get your act together Xfinity, there are many other options out there and this pushes me (and probably many others) to look into them.

I agree! I tried calling Xfinity but when it was all said & done I got a one time $30 discount on each of my cable bill & mobile! When my cable is $330 & mobile is $260 it doesn’t make a big difference. I’m in the process of find a different alternative!

Fiber optics with streaming are beginning to look really good.  Been with Xfinity since 1998.  Really has gotten ugly lately.

If Xfinity (Comcast) & Scripps do not work this out, let me just say goodbye to my cable!  I will not be held hostage from watching WXYZ which is one of the only channels I ever watch!  This is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated by many people!!!!!!!  I already have many frustrations with Xfinity and this will be the last straw!!!!  Get this fixed NOW!!!!
