Scheduled Maintenance/ourages

So i got an email saying there would be updates/maintenance that may cause outages.,  It said on the 25th, then the website said the 23, then I got an email saying  the 25 and 29.    And if I wanted updates to send my number so they can text me.  When is the maintenance?   Can I have my tv and cable on, why can't they email me????

@cmw112 That would definitely be confusing getting a lot of different communications. Typically, planned maintenance is started in the wee hours of the morning, around 1 AM. That way we avoid affecting most folks as they are sleeping during that time. It can definitely cause frustration for the night owls but they are the minority of the group. Depends on the kind of maintenance, but there are times when apps will still function like the Xfinity Stream app to keep access to your programs.

@XfinityBradM This is part of the email...  Are the updates just for internet not cable tv???

Bringing customers like you the ultimate internet experience is our number one priority. That's why, in the coming days, we'll be making improvements to the Xfinity network in your neighborhood. The goal of the work is to enhance our network to ultimately allow us to deliver multigigabit upload and download speeds. This is just one example of how our next-generation Xfinity network is evolving to get smarter, faster, and more reliable.

The updates technically are for Xfinity internet as you will see the benefits to just that service, however, the maintenance will bring down all services when they are working on your local node. You will get another email and see an update in the Xfinity app when they need to take the network down for upgrades which will affect all services.

The answer to both questions is yes. The network and its equipment that are supplying the TV signal will be upgraded that increase other service capacities along with its own.

So it would not be an issue if I were watching tv when the outage occurred?
