Thanks for reaching out to us,  if you have a another coax cable in your home where you want to move your modem to you definitely don't need a technician to come out,  you would just take that modem to that section and plug the coax cable in.

If you need an additional coax outlet put into your home our techs don't do any wall fishing, for wall fishing you do have to hire your own electrician.

so the most we could do is have a tech come out and they can drill straight through the wall and possibly put a other connection in your home.

Generally your modem should be in the centralized location of your home to supply the best Wi-Fi signals in your home.

There would be a fee if we had a tech come out to install a new outlet in the separate room.  If that's something you're looking to do go ahead and send me a direct message including your first and last name and complete service address to get started

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send your message

That button is not visible to me on the page anywhere. It's not in the upper right corner, or in the sub-menu on my name.
