Scam

To Whom It May Concern,

At approximately 4:20 EST on Friday, August 11th, I received a phone call from Pittston, PA.  I did not recognize the phone number, so I did not respond.  The call went to voicemail.  It was identified from "Xfinity".  The message was offering a sales promotion.  I returned the call to the number in the voicemail text.  The call had all of the usual automatic greetings and menu.  I elected to stay on the line for a representative.  The gentleman who responded had a heavy accent and the connection grew garbled to almost imperceptible.  I may have responded "yes" to some questions. I did list the many services that I use with Xfinity including internet and mobile phone service.  In order to qualify for the sales promotion, I had to agree to pay for my Xfinity services 5 months in advance or have to pay a $400 fee to "unsubscribe" to the promotion that I said "yes" to.  This was obviously a scam.  Fortunately, I did not give any other information such as credit card, etc.  I worry about vulnerabilities to mobile and internet when this happens.  Stay safe out there.

The concern is not "Community Center" help related. Topic moved here to the proper help section, and for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
