Scam call
Dear Xfinity Customer Support,
I want to report a suspicious call I received from someone claiming to be from Xfinity. They told me about a 50% discount on my bill, saying it would be $30 per month for three years. To get this deal, they said I needed to pay $560 upfront for 18 months using a Target gift card, supposedly because this promotion was in partnership with Target.
Later, the same person offered another deal: a five-year plan at $25 per month, requiring an upfront payment of $1,560 using a Target gift card**. They also promised a free iPhone 16 Pro Max with 1TB storage. Since this sounded too good to be true, I said I would check with an Xfinity store. However, they insisted that stores wouldn’t have information on this deal because it was handled by headquarters.
They gave me the number [Edit: Phone number removed] and when I called, it sounded just like Xfinity’s customer service.
What concerns me the most is that this person somehow credited $9.99 to my Xfinity account. I don’t know how they got my account details, but it’s worrying.
I request the following:
- Investigate this scam and whoever is behind it.
- Remove the $9.99 payment from my account so it doesn’t cause issues later.
- Ensure that my personal details are not shared with marketing companies.

Thank you for reaching out. I hope you are doing well, besides the recent call. I can confirm with absolute certainty that we will never ask you to pay upfront for any promotion we provide. Especially, never with gift cards. I would certainly not engage with that number or caller again.
You can also contact our Customer Security Assurance team if you feel your account was compromised at 1-800-XFINITY. Regarding any credits or adjustments, I can certainly review this on my end. Please send me a direct message with your full name and service address when you're ready.
