Scam call?

A guy called me saying he's from Xfinity and wants to talk about their mobile plan. He asked me to share the code he sent me through Xfinity text alert and then asked me to provide the IMEI number on my phone to check compatibility. Does it sound like a scam? I shared the code and told him the IMEI number. What should I do now if that was a scam? Really need some help if this is common in Xfinity's sales practice.
