Scam call and website?
I searched up xfinity due to a wifi connection issue, and when I searched it up, there was the xfinity website (it was a sponsored scam website after further research) and a number for support. I called the number and it seemed legit and all like the typical xfinity line. A person comes on the line and doesn’t seem to know what he is doing. He says there’s a problem with the line and they need to send a technician out. I schedule the appointment and get a confirmation text (now looking at it again it is not the typical xfinity one). I called today to say it worked again and to cancel the appointment and got a confirmation text. It is a scam number. Should I be worried about my information getting stolen or hacked? I told them name and address/phone number only.

Hello @user_d0f876 We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us today. I know how important it is to ensure your information is secure. In order for us to set up an appointment for a tech to go out, we would need to verify your account by sending you a 6-digit code to the preferred contact methods you set up on the Xfinity website or by getting the full 16-digit account number. Based on the information you provided regarding the website and the confirmation text, its likely this isn't valid but I'd be happy to review your account to see if an appointment was set up.
If all you provided was your name and address, they would not be able to access your Xfinity account with that.
Please send me a DM with your name and full address by doing the following:
Ensure you are first signed in, then you will see an icon at the top right of your page.
From there, click the 'New Message' icon. In the 'To' field, type 'Xfinity Support'.
Type your message in the text area that appears at the bottom of the window and hit enter to send. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond.
