Router upgrade

Or maybe 5 months ago I upgraded my internet to Platinum. The tech came and brought a different router. He said the one I already had was not advanced enough for the higher MPS speed and that I needed to take it and return it and have it adjusted. At the same time he brought me a router that he said should work but I should take that one and have it adjusted as well. I just feel like he should have been doing that or was it my responsibility?

user_rons58 Thank you for reaching out! If the technican brought you the correct Xfinity Gateway for your internet speed tier, they should have taken the old one back with them. Do you have more than one Xfinity Gateway?
