returning

I would like to return the wifi equipment I previously used. Because I received a new device. I would like to visit an Xfinity store and pass this on to the staff. Can I just take this equipment with me and deliver it to the staff without packing it in a box? And are there any documents to print out for me to return? Because I couldn't visit, my friend would help me return it on my behalf.

user_41sofw, Thank you for reaching out to Xfinity Support! You can bring the equipment back to any Xfinity store and no boxes are needed. No documents are needed either. just let them know your name and address if they ask for it. You will want to make sure it is removed from your account.

Can my friend go to the Xfinity store instead of me and return this equipment? Is there anything my friend needs to know to do that?

@user_41sofw yes, your friend can return the equipment for you. They can find the nearest store and hours of operation, as well as setting an appointment here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/store-selector. I would definitely recommend setting up an appointment if they want to save time, as it can get busy at the Xfinity service centers. You would also want them to get a receipt showing the return of the equipment.

If your friend is not authorized on your account as a manager, they won't be able to get any information on your account like confirming the equipment serial numbers have been removed. But having the receipt is a great reference point of the return. You can add your friend as a manager on your account through the great self-help option in the award-winning Xfinity App if you like: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/adding-new-user-names-or-email-addresses?view=app.
