Returning Equipment
I am moving out of state next weekend and will need to continue using my internet until then. I won't have time to physically return the modem before I move, can I wait to cancel my service and return the modem until I've moved?
Note: I already checked if XFINITY services my new area and it does not, so transferring service is not an option.

@user_dykddv Congrats on your move to your new home! An out-of-state move is exciting!
I have a link from our help and support site which goes into how you can return your equipment including using dropping off your boxes at any UPS store. Here's the link on how to return your equipment.
https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/returning-your-equipment.
I have another link for the UPS store locator if you want to locate one for your move https://www.theupsstore.com/tools/find-a-store.
We offer email for life for our customers. I have a link that goes into the guidelines to keep your email address active after disconnection. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-email-only.
I’m sad to hear we don't service your new area. Maybe one day we will be able to.
Some important information is that you must submit a request to disconnect your account to stop the billing of your services once you're no longer using them.
Secondly to avoid unreturned equipment fees we recommend returning your boxes in within ten days after you disconnect your account. I am happy to help you with setting up a disconnect via direct message.
Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:
• Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send your message
