Residential Technician Scope of Work: types of wiring
Could someone please confirm Comcast’s policy regarding the types of wiring residential technicians are responsible for working on?
I have some Ethernet Cat5 and Cat6 lines in my house that need some work. If I make an appointment with an Xfinity residential technician, would they be able to troubleshoot and repair the Ethernet wiring (Cat5, Cat6, etc.), or do they only work on coaxial wiring?
If they don’t service Ethernet wiring, should I seek assistance from a third-party contractor?

@user_a514fg Thanks for adding a post to the forum. Our techs are only allowed to work on lines up to the home. Lines from the lock box outside, to and throughout the home are responsibility of the home owner. Many home owners run and replace their own ethernet cabling, it's not hard. If you would like someone to do it on your behalf, we recommend any licensed electrician. They'll be able to run, troubleshoot, and replace any wiring in the home, including ethernet wires for home networks.
