Resetting Purchase Pin on a "New" Xfinity Router...

I just had a new router delivered and I installed it a couple of weeks ago. Somehow, it has a purchase PIN setup on it that I didn't configure. I just spent almost an hour with Level 1 support, and they were useless. I need to know how to reset a Purchase Pin that I did not set on this new Xfinity Router. You can display and reset your system Security PIN from logging on to portal for God's sake, why you can't reset a Purchase Pin the same way baffles me. Almost as much as how a "Brand New" router from Xfinity had one configured?? Or is there a generic PIN setup on new routers by default? It's just me so I don't require a PIN if I want to purchase some show. So ridiculous.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

 

Click "Sign In" if necessary

 

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3EqVMu7

 

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

 

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 

- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 

- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

 

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Thank you for your contribution, @user_ofnuik! And, as a quick reminder @user_o9azjk, you can manage and reset X1 and Stream Pin Settings online. Here is how: 

  1. Begin by accessing xfinity.com/profile on your computer, laptop or mobile device.
  2. Log in using your Xfinity ID or email address and password.
  3. Click the Settings icon in the top right corner, which allows you to reset your parental controls, manage your Purchase PINs, and update your TV app settings.
  4. To manage parental controls, click the Parental Controls link and use the Reset button to reset the locks PIN and purchase PIN for each device on your account.
  5. Choose to require a purchase PIN on your X1 TV Boxes, the Xfinity Stream web portal (xfinity.com/stream) or the Xfinity Stream app on Roku devices to:
    • Purchase or rent content.
    • Subscribe to new channels.
    • Order pay per view (PPV) events.
    • Notes:
      • You can create, change or remove purchase PINs for your devices from this page.
      • A purchase PIN must be set separately for each TV Box you have, but only once for all Stream devices.
