Requesting Assistance: Return unused Galaxy Watch to swap for Xfinity Mobile phone line (Referred by Virtual Assistant)

Hi Xfinity Team,

I am writing to request assistance with an issue regarding my account and an unused device, following a referral from the Virtual Assistant representative at my local Xfinity Store.

Here is a quick summary of my situation:

  • Background: In April, my 2-year internet contract expired, pushing my rate from $55/month up to $110/month.

  • The Promotion: When I visited my local Xfinity store to discuss lowering my bill, a representative offered a bundle promotion: if I added a Samsung Galaxy Watch ($60 upfront + ~$22/month for device and line fee), my internet bill would drop back down to around $55/month, net-saving me money overall.

  • Current Status: I didn’t truly need the watch, but agreed to the bundle to save on internet costs. The Galaxy Watch is completely untouched, unopened, and still in its original packaging.

  • My Current Need: My family now needs a new cell phone line and a new number. I went back to the store to see if I could return/exchange the untouched watch for a basic, budget-friendly mobile phone while keeping my current internet rate ($55/month).

  • Store Referral: The store manager noted the 14-day return window had passed, but directed me to the store's Virtual Assistant feature. The VA representative noted the 60-day mark, but placed a recommendation note on my account and advised me to post here on the Xfinity Forums so an official digital support rep could review the request.

My Request: I value my service with Xfinity and want to keep my mobile services with you. I am asking if an exception can be made to return/cancel the Galaxy Watch line and switch that mobile agreement to a basic cellphone line with a new number, while maintaining my ~$55/month internet promotional rate.

Since the device is brand new and sealed in the box, I hope we can find a solution that works for both of us and meets my family's actual connectivity needs.

Thank you for your time and help!

user_75ahpq. Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed explanation of the situation. I can certainly understand why you'd like to explore options that better fit your family's needs, especially since the Galaxy Watch has remained unopened and your goal is to replace it with a device and line that will actually be used. While device returns and exchanges are typically subject to specific return timeframes, we'd be happy to take a closer look at your account, the notes that were added, and any available options regarding the watch line, a new mobile line, and the promotional pricing on your Internet service. We can't guarantee that an exception will be available, but we'll do our best to review the circumstances and determine what options may exist. Could you please send our team a Direct Message with your name and service address? Our team can take a further look at this issue.
