Request to remove address restriction.
Hi, I need help with a service-address restriction.
I am trying to establish new Xfinity residential service at my address, but the address is being blocked because of a previous Xfinity account belonging to someone else.
That previous account is no longer active and the balance has already been sent to collections. I was previously told that once the account went to collections, a new customer could establish service at this address. However, the address is still being blocked when we try to open a new account.
The person applying for the new service is not responsible for the previous account or its balance.
I need this escalated to the appropriate team that can review and remove the service-address restriction so a completely new account can be established. I am specifically asking for the address restriction to be reviewed, not for the old account to be reopened or transferred.
Please do not simply direct me to pay the previous balance, because the new applicant is not the account holder responsible for that debt.
If you cannot resolve this directly, please escalate this to the team that handles address/service eligibility and provide me with the escalation case number.
