Request for EPON Member-Owned Router Provisioning – XER10 / ONU

I recently had Xfinity 1 Gig fiber installed at my home. My installation includes a separate fiber ONU connected via Ethernet to an XER10 gateway.

I have my own TP-Link Omada network and would like to use my existing gateway directly connected to the ONU, eliminating the need for the XER10.

I understand Xfinity introduced support for member-owned routers on eligible EPON fiber installations in July 2026, including WiFi Ready properties (official announcement below).

Please escalate this request to the appropriate EPON fiber provisioning team to:

  1. Remove the XER10 as the active gateway and provision the ONU to support my customer-owned router directly.

  2. Confirm that my TP-Link Omada gateway can receive a public IPv4 address directly from the ONU.

I have tried reaching out through chat support and basic phone support, and they have not been helpful in understanding what I am trying to do. I am not requesting assistance configuring Wi-Fi or troubleshooting my personal router. I am specifically requesting the supported EPON customer-owned router provisioning change.

I've seen similar requests for this, such as this one: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/customer-service/provisioning-ont-for-customerowned-router/6aa2f1486bd5372d476ac48b

Thank you!

Thanks so much for working with us to get this switched over to your own router. Everything stays the same as far as your promotion, so no worries there. I hope you have an amazing weekend! Take care!

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
