Replacing my owned Linksys modem/router combo with a new Netgear modem/router combo with a new Netgear

Nothing but headaches. My Xfinity store guy says he can install my new Netgear on my account with the MAC number etc before I try it out and has done that. So now the instructions that came with the Netgear unit and the Xfinity app installation information doesn't apply ? What exactly should i do now and in what order?

I've been fighting through for days now.

So frustrating.

To send a direct message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
