Repeated packet loss - maintenance/construction issue has no ETA
I have been experiencing severe intermittent packet loss and connectivity drops for several weeks. Multiple Xfinity technicians have now visited my home and confirmed that the problem is not with my local network or equipment.
During an earlier visit, a technician referred the issue to maintenance with the documented finding: “DS has a wave and intermittent MER on multiple frequencies.” I have the maintenance ticket number and can provide it privately.
The maintenance work that I was originally told would occur never happened. Another technician visited today and told me that maintenance is aware of the problem and has identified an issue with a buried span of outside plant, which apparently requires a construction crew to repair. I was given no estimated date for that work.
At this point I am not looking to schedule another ordinary in-home technician visit. Several technicians have already confirmed an outside-plant problem.
I am trying to determine:
- The current status of the existing maintenance/construction work.
- Whether a construction job has actually been created and assigned.
- Whether there is an estimated repair date.
- Whether someone can follow this issue through completion rather than repeatedly scheduling premise technicians.
I can provide the maintenance ticket number and account information privately to an official Xfinity representative.
