Repeated Internet Outages for 3 Months

I am at the point where I seriously need someone from Xfinity to address this issue because I have run out of patience.

For the last three months, my internet service has gone out multiple times every single month. This isn’t a one-time outage or a weather-related inconvenience anymore—it’s become a recurring problem that is disrupting our daily lives.

My boyfriend works from home, and because of these repeated outages, he has had to miss work or go into the office on days he was scheduled to work remotely. We pay for reliable internet, and that simply is not what we have been receiving. It is unacceptable to continue paying full price for a service that repeatedly fails.

To make matters worse, it is nearly impossible to get in touch with an actual person. Every time I try to get help, I get stuck in the endless loop with the Xfinity Assistant asking the same questions over and over again. I understand automated systems can be helpful for simple issues, but when customers are experiencing repeated service interruptions, there needs to be a way to speak with a live representative without jumping through hoops.

At this point, I am requesting the following:

  • A thorough explanation for why our service has been repeatedly interrupted over the past three months.
  • A permanent solution so this continues to stop happening.
  • A credit or discount on my bill to compensate for the repeated outages and the service we have paid for but have not consistently received.
  • The opportunity to speak with a live representative who can actually resolve this issue.

I have been patient, but my patience has run out. We have continued paying our bill while receiving unreliable service, and I don’t believe that is fair to customers.

If Xfinity cannot provide reliable internet service or offer reasonable compensation for these ongoing disruptions, I will have no choice but to cancel my service and switch to another provider. I don’t want to do that, but I also can’t continue paying for internet that repeatedly goes offline and affects our ability to work.

I would appreciate someone from Xfinity reaching out to review my account, the outage history in my area, and discuss an appropriate resolution. I hope this can be resolved quickly because, as it stands today, I have very little confidence in the service.

Itistaya I'm sorry to hear that you've had constant issues with your service and appreciate you bringing it to my team's attention. I've been working from home for many years now, and am at least glad to hear that your husband has a backup plan available. Have we had a technician out to check on the lines and connections to your home? That may be the best option to get more attention to any area issues that our maintenance teams need to correct, or if it is more isolated to only your home, they can help to improve the signal or replae any equipment needed as well.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate you replying, but I don’t feel that my main concerns were addressed.

While I understand that scheduling a technician may be part of the solution, this issue goes beyond that. A technician was already dispatched to work on issues affecting our neighborhood on the 20th. Despite that, our internet went out again the very next day and continued into Monday and Tuesday. This has become a recurring pattern over the last three months, with multiple outages each month.

I would like someone to review my account’s outage and service interruption history for the past three months. These repeated outages have had a real impact on our household. My boyfriend works from home, and these service interruptions have disrupted his ability to work as scheduled. We rely on a stable internet connection, and we’ve continued paying our full monthly bill despite not consistently receiving the service we’re paying for.

Another major concern is customer support. Every time I need assistance, the Xfinity Assistant repeatedly asks the same questions but never provides a way to reach a live representative. It has made resolving these issues far more frustrating than it should be.

I am willing to schedule a technician if necessary, but I am also requesting that my account be reviewed for an appropriate billing credit or refund due to the repeated service interruptions. I would also appreciate an explanation as to why these outages continue to occur after work has already been performed in our area.

If this issue cannot be resolved directly, I will be filing formal complaints with the appropriate consumer and regulatory agencies and requesting reimbursement or bill credits for the repeated service interruptions. I would much rather resolve this with Xfinity than escalate it, but after three months of recurring outages, unreliable service, and difficulty reaching a live representative, I believe that is a reasonable next step.

I look forward to speaking with someone who can review my account, my outage history, and help bring this matter to a fair resolution.

Itistaya we can certainly look up your account in a direct message and assist you further. Working on Xfinity Forums we will do all we can to resolve concerns in public first. Are you able to let us know if service interruptions were confirmed when your service was down? If yes, then you can always get the appropriate credit applied using this resource. (https://www.xfinity.com/support/status) Sign in and scroll down until you see "You may be eligible for a credit, “Check eligibility." When you select check eligibility you can enter the day the issue started and today's date to get a service adjustment.
