Removing the XER10 and provisioning ONU with my own router

Hello,

I have Xfinity Fiber and would like to remove the XER10 router in place of my own. From what I’m seeing online I need to reach out to make this happen, rather than just plug the ONU in directly. Currently I am running into issues by having the XER10.

Thank you

iReddog Thanks for reaching out to us here on Forums to help with adjusting your account to allow the use of your own router. We can certainly help get this done for you, and happy to assist! I'll need account information in direct messaging to locate and authenticate your account please.

Can you send us a direct message with your full name, name of account holder (if different), and service address please?

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon

Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon

In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support"

As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.

Press Enter to send it.

I"m having the same issue as others as I'm wanting to use my own router instead of the xfinity gateway. I've spoken to 3 chat agents who were not helpful at all and wanted to put me into bridge mode or wanted the CM MAC. They were combative regardless of the KB or forum posts that I tried to show them. I heard that I needed to make a post before direct messaging. Is that true?

@user_nizl6m I can’t confirm or deny other methods, but this post was successful in getting the XER10 removed from my account in lieu of my own router.

Best regards
