Remove Xfi pods from old account

Hi - 

I am trying to get the xfi pods removed from my old account so I can give them to a friend. Customer service isn't really sure about anything and can't give me a straight answer. 

I read you can disassociate them from your account through the xfi app but I have already returned my router and my account is canceled due to a move where xfinty was not an option. 


Is it possible yall could help me with this?


I saw this post had the same issue and looks like it got resolved by sending the pod serial numbers to engenring or something like that:
