Regarding the Availability of a XG1v4 Cable Box

Are XG1v4 '4k' cable boxes actually available?  I haven't been able to figure this out - some customers are currently using them, and others are still trying to request them.  Thank you, if anyone has any insight.

Yes, I know they are available in Atlanta area.

I live in the Atlanta, GA area, just converted yesterday from a whole house Tivo setup with legacy Xfinity cable (cable cards) to a 6 room X1 technology.  I requested extra DRV capability and the very knowlegable young lady at the Xfinity Retail store gave me 4- XiDP settop boxes, 1- XG2V2 settop/DVR and 1- XG1V4 set top/DVR box.  She updated my home service on the spot. The cost for " Extened DVR Service" is $20.00/month.

Carried out 2 bags of hardware, and was up and running 4 hours after leaving the store.

I must say after 16 years and 4 generations of Tivo I got tired of installing larger HD's and managing my network. But I can say  I am still confused on how the XI recording architecture actually works.

There are  so many internet articles on Xfinity X1 DVR that have outdated and incorrect product info.
