REAL information about the outage in my area

We have been without internet for 24 hours.  The outgoing message says "...problems caused by weather in your area, we'll send crews out when it is safe to do so..." blah, blah, blah...  The severe weather (some 40mph winds and rain) ended 24 hours ago.  The message hasn't changed.  Is anyone really working on this? Is there an ETA?  is there even an ETA when crews will arrive on scene?  Was the damage minor or did a meteor take out half the planet?  GIVE ME SOME DETAILS not just stiff-arm the customer and just repeat the same generic information over and over again.  You have a Customer Guarantee on your website?  YOU ARE FAILING MISERABLY.   Please let me know what is going on.

xfinity seems to be having problems is a wide area according to this map https://istheservicedown.com/problems/comcast-xfinity/5327455-belmont-san-mateo-county-california-united-states  The one xfinity provides only shows me a localized area...  I too am wondering what is going on?  Are we going to get credits for unavailability?

Hello @user_8752a9. Thank You for taking time out of your day to reach out to our Xfinity Support Team, here. I am very sorry to read that you are experiencing an ongoing service interruption. We, as a company, totally understand that our customers depend on us and our services for all aspects of their lives, and we want to get you up and running as soon as possible.

During any interruption, the best source of information is our status center, here - xfinity.com/support/status

Please understand that we do not have direct contact with the field teams, so we are rarely able to provide additional information to the status center description.

I no longer work for Comcast.

If there are power outages, that can shut down their network. You may have power at home, but if there is an outage between your home and the head end, that can shut down the line. Comcast does have some backup power ability, but that is usually only good for a few hours at best. The power is to run the various amps and other equipment.

Concerns moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.
