Re: Data overages
This! You wrote what I was thinking. I've been with comcast/xfinity for many years and recently went from a fixed rate contract (3 yrs) that ended back in October. I had to "upgrade" my service to include phone with my internet to bring the cost "down" to around $75 (which was really up from $60). To add insult to injury I purchased my own modem to save on the $10 equipment fee and now I've found the whole "unlimited" data is (removed: due to abbreviated profanity). I've hit the limit on data several times now and like others can't seem to figure out why. I somehow managed to add almost 150G in data over one weekend and this pushed me over quite a bit. Such a cash grab and I, like you, will be taking my account elsewhere. AT&T has a fiber connection in our neighborhood so it won't be a hassle to switch. AND, their plan shows a rate of $60/month with upto 1000mps! Too bad Xfinity doesn't want to keep their customers. Doing this in the midst of a pandemic is just wrong on many levels.
