Questions Pertaining to Xfinity's Return Process

Hello,

I canceled my Xfinity cable service some time ago, and am looking to return the equipment I no longer need. Two TV Boxes, their respective power cords, and the remotes assigned to each. I intend to drop them off at the closest UPS Store, as it is the most convenient method for me to return them. I understand that I have to pack them into a cardboard box with newspaper as padding for their protection. My question is, does the type of cardboard box matter? I don't have any plain shipping boxes; only ones with company logos on them (i.e. Target, Lands' End, etc.). Would using one of these boxes complicate the return process in any way?

Also, if you don't mind my asking... According to the Device Management Center, bringing the equipment to an Xfinity Store is the recommended method for returning them. I'm assuming it's to ensure the equipment doesn't get lost in transit. Supposing that were to happen, would I continue to be charged for the equipment? Even if UPS is the one at fault?

Thank you in advance.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hey there user_4948l2 👋 I'm hoping the weekend is treating you well, and glad you brought your return questions to us because you're in the right place! When it comes to getting your equipment returned via UPS, the type of box you use is inconsequential as long as it doesn't have any markings from other postal carriers on it. Once you've gotten your return labels from xfinity.com/returns, you're good to go from there 👍 UPS will also provide you with a tracking receipt once returned so you can track the return yourself, and in the event it's lost at the fault of UPS, we would not hold you accountable for that.
