Question about Internet Essentials eligibility

Hello,

My household is currently enrolled in the Internet Essentials program. I'm planning on going back to work soon, but doing so would put my household above the income limit for the program. However, we are also on housing assistance and Medicaid which are qualifying programs for Internet Essentials. My additional income could potentially disqualify us from Medicaid but we would still be on housing assistance as we live in an apartment where out rent is based on our income. Would my household be able to keep Internet Essentials if I go back to work?

Happy Thursday user_pu7mit 👋 I appreciate you taking the time to stop by our community with your question, and want to especially congratulate you on the getting back to work! When it comes to your eligibility for Internet Essentials with increased income, you may lose your eligibility if you no longer meet the income requirements.

Eligibility is based on participation in certain assistance programs or income levels, so if that changes or if your income increases to a point where you no longer qualify for these programs, you may become ineligible for Internet Essentials as a result. It's important to review your eligibility regularly, especially if your financial situation changes. For more details, please check out xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/internet-essentials, and let me know if you have any questions!

Would we keep Internet Essentials if we kept our housing assistance?

Your eligibility is determined based on various factors that include income and assistive program participation, so it's hard to say whether the loss of one specific assistive program would impact your Internet Essentials service to that degree, but I would recommend double-checking your eligibility through the Internet Essentials site directly once your income or assistive programs have finalized any changes just to be safe.
