Public WiFi hotspot not working

How do I report a public WiFi hotspot that has been down for a while? It still shows on the map as available. It also shows up under available WiFi networks on my device but won’t allow me to connect.

Thanks for reaching out to us, the public Wi-Fi spots are controlled by Xfinity customers modems. So depending on that modem the customer could turn off their public Wi-Fi hotspot. Also depending on how close you are to that Wi-Fi hotspot will warrant if you have access,  but the ultimate control of the public Wi-Fi comes from the customers modem that they have the access to turn them on and off.

This particular modem is in a public building. It was also working recently and still shows up on list of available WiFi networks, it just won’t connect.

Thank you for your help with this, user_hgd06y. Have you been able to connect to any other Hotspots on your device since you first noticed this one would not connect? Have you tried to connect to this Hotspot with any other devices to see if the same thing happens?

Yes I’ve been able to connect to other hotspots on my device. I’ve tried to connect to this hotspot on two different devices and it doesn’t work on either one.

Appreciate all of your help! When you try to connect to the Hotspot, user_hgd06y, does it show connected no internet or what happens?

It tries to connect and then pops up with a message “unable to connect to Xfinity Mobile” and does the same thing to “Xfinity WiFi”
