Property easement issue -- Orange Cable running across 80ft of private property for years -- Bury the cable now
Good morning - For several YEARS now I have been reaching out to Comcast Xfinity to deal with an issue on our property. There is an orange internet/cable wire (electrified I am told) than runs over our yard for nearly 80 feet. Eighty feet. This was meant to be temporary, but alas, it is still here. Every time I call, write and send video someone says it will be taken care of, but it's not. So for the 4th time - There is a cable running over 80 feet of our back yard (deep into our property no where near the street). Xfinity does not have an easement for this. It's private land and we are not compensated for this inconvenience. The wire is a major tripping hazard for kids playing in the yard. We also cannot mow that area of my property now and had to pay $750 to have the area hand cleared last year as there was overgrown grass and bushes. You can see the re growth of bushes that have grown in the area -which was previously all grass- in the pictures. There is an orange cone at the end because there is a deep hole where it ends and goes underground to the other end of my property. The cone I have realized is not there to denote danger - it's so techs can locate the wire. Also because there is a hole it has filled with water which has knocked out internet for the neighbors. So did they bury it? No they put stone slab and a cone to cover it. Super safe and effective. FYI- the cone has been removed.
If you check your records for our account you'll see I've called this in before and even sent video. Yet despite my sending a video to a tech and a supervisor of the exact location, the techs came to my house when I wasn't home and changed out the cable that went directly into my house! and then went into my backyard within my fence and buried wire in an area where where there wasn't even a problem! I'm assuming no one gave them the video with instructions or they didn't bother to read.
So here we are another Spring and the wire isn't buried. Bury it or we cut it. Doesn't bother us its not for our neighborhood. As always, look forward to hearing from you.
