Property Damage - Need to Open a Claim

I'm having trouble finding how to open a claim for property damage to my house; can someone please direct me how to do so?

The damage to my home is related to a Xfinity cable line and its reattachment. During a storm, the Xfinity cable line at our home came loose so we contacted Xfinity and a technician came out to reattach the cable.

We recently discovered that the soffit along the roof edge has pulled away from the house near the cable attachment point, exposing underlying wood that is now damaged. The cable's position and tension in relation to the damaged area raise concerns that the cable, its attachment, and the work performed to reattach it contributed to or worsened the damage. We had not noticed any issues with the soffit before recently discovering this.

Xfinity recently addressed the cable issue at our property. However, correcting the cable does not resolve the damage to the house itself.

I would like to know how to open a property damage claim with Xfinity.

We are working on finding a qualified contractor to inspect the affected area and provide an estimate for the necessary repairs. These repairs may include removing and replacing the damaged underlying wood and soffit, securing and restoring the roof edge, and addressing any related damage identified during the inspection. We would like to seek reimbursement for the cost of all necessary repairs determined to be related to this incident. I can provide photographs of the damage and can submit the contractor's inspection findings and itemized estimate when available.

Good morning @cfeeley897. Our team can assist with getting a ticket opened for your claim.

Please send us a DM with your full name and address to Xfinity Support.

To send a direct message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click "Direct Message"

Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

As you are typing, a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it. See the link below for an example
