Problem activating XB6 Gateway without using the App

I have connected the modem to the cable wall outlet, plugged in the phone line, powered it on and allowed it to boot up. I connected to my computer with ethernet cable and opened my browser, went to register.xfinity.com I got to the sign in page, entered my username and password. Got an error message saying: There was a problem, let's try that again. I tried 7 or 8 times, got the same message every time. I could not phone for support because our phone is through Xfinity. Don't have a cell phone. What else can I try?

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Good afternoon boheemee. I will be happy to assist you further. I do have a couple of questions to better understand the situation. What color light does the gateway currently have? Is this a new service address for you? If so, do you know when the property last had Xfinity service?

Hello XfinityJon,

The Gateway is not currently powered on. When I had it was powered and I had the problem the light was blinking White. This is not a new service address this account has been active for several years. I am currently online with the old modem An Arris TM722.

Okay, thank you very much for that information. I will be able to assist you further with completing the activation. I will need some additional information.

Please send us a direct chat message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window and press Enter to send it.

I am an Official Xfinity Employee.
