Previous service activation and address discrepancy
Hello,
I am requesting a formal engineering and serviceability investigation for my residence at [Edited: "Personal Information"].
Xfinity currently identifies my address as unavailable for service. However, the property’s development history, existing telecommunications infrastructure, previous service-order discrepancies, and confirmed Xfinity availability at neighboring properties warrant further investigation.
Property history and development layout
My residence is one of 29 standalone cottages within The Residences at Stone Creek, currently managed by Avenue5 Residential. The development also includes a newer 120-unit apartment building at [Edited: "Personal Information"].
The cottages were previously operated as independent-living residences associated with the Meridian at Stone Creek senior-living community at [Edited: "Personal Information"]. They have since transitioned into conventional rental housing as part of The Residences at Stone Creek.
Although the cottages and the newer apartment building are part of the same residential development, they were constructed during different phases and may have different telecommunications infrastructure.
The property’s history also involves address and postal-designation differences:
- My current residential address is [Edited: "Personal Information"].
- The cottages were historically associated with [Edited: "Personal Information"].
- Historical property records also associate the location with Federal Way, WA 98003.
- The newer 120-unit apartment building uses [Edited: "Personal Information"].
I am concerned that these historical associations or changes may have affected how the cottages are identified in Xfinity’s address and serviceability systems.
Previous incorrect service activation
During a previous attempt to establish Xfinity service at [Edited: "Personal Information"], service was inadvertently activated under the address [Edited: "Personal Information"] instead of my actual residence.
I would appreciate a review of that service order to determine how the incorrect address was selected and whether any address-matching or provisioning issues are contributing to my current serviceability classification.
Existing infrastructure and neighboring Xfinity availability
- A coaxial wall outlet is present inside my cottage.
- Coaxial cable runs from the roof down the exterior wall and enters the residence.
- An Arris SURFboard SBG6900-AC cable modem was left by the previous resident.
- Equipment that appears to be associated with Comcast is located approximately two houses away, although its ownership and function have not been confirmed.
- Xfinity service is available at [Edited: "Personal Information"], directly north of the cottage development.
- Xfinity service is also available at [Edited: "Personal Information"], the newer 120-unit apartment building within The Residences at Stone Creek.
Despite this surrounding availability, all 29 standalone cottages currently appear as unavailable through Xfinity’s online serviceability system.
Given that the cottages previously operated as part of a senior-living community, I would also like to determine whether they were historically served through a centralized or property-managed telecommunications arrangement rather than individually registered residential service addresses.
Previous Xfinity availability reporting and FCC challenge
Xfinity previously reported service availability at my address on the FCC National Broadband Map. However, Xfinity’s online serviceability information subsequently indicated that service was unavailable.
I submitted an FCC Broadband Data Collection availability challenge regarding Xfinity’s reported coverage at my residence. Xfinity conceded the challenge and removed its availability claim for my location from the FCC map.
While this corrected the reporting discrepancy, it did not establish whether Comcast infrastructure exists at or near my cottage or whether service could be established through existing infrastructure, a new service drop, or a network extension.
Requested technical investigation
I am requesting that the appropriate engineering, construction, or serviceability team investigate and clarify the following:
- Whether Cottage 0044 is missing from, duplicated in, or incorrectly associated with Xfinity’s internal serviceability and address records.
- Whether the cottage’s current address should be cross-referenced with the former Meridian at Stone Creek campus address, historical Federal Way designation, or other property identifiers.
- Whether the previous incorrect activation at 44 Hylebos resulted from an address-matching or provisioning error.
- Whether the cottages were previously associated with a centralized, bulk-service, or property-managed telecommunications arrangement that may affect their current serviceability records.
- Whether Comcast’s distribution network reaches the cottage development and where the nearest available connection point is located.
- Whether the existing coaxial wiring is connected to Comcast infrastructure or represents a previous telecommunications installation.
- Whether service could be established through an address correction, activation of existing infrastructure, installation of a new service drop, or a network/plant extension.
- Whether an engineering site survey or field inspection can be arranged to determine the feasibility of connecting Cottage 0044, including any necessary construction, potential costs, and estimated timelines.
I work remotely and depend on a reliable, high-speed internet connection for daily professional responsibilities, including VPN access and substantial file transfers. I am particularly interested in Xfinity’s multi-gigabit service options, preferably 2 Gbps or higher, if available.
Please open a formal engineering/serviceability investigation and provide the associated ticket number, the reason Cottage 0044 is currently classified as unavailable, and the next steps necessary to obtain a technical determination.
I understand that nearby Xfinity availability and existing coaxial wiring do not independently confirm that my cottage can receive service. However, I am requesting a review of the physical network infrastructure, property history, and address records rather than another general online availability check.
Thank you for your assistance.
