Previous homeowner has not canceled service
I set up and paid for Xfinity internet. Salesperson told me I could not start service until the previous homeowner canceled their Xfinity service.
There is Xfinity equipment in my home, do I have to wait until they return it before I can start service? The previous owner lives overseas and I don’t know if they are currently in the USA.
How long after they cancel do I have to wait before I can get service?
My wife is an author and we also have a consulting business, it is critical that we have internet connectivity. I prefer to have Xfinity’s service but if we can not get it soon we will have to get another service.

Hello @user_aedd0b Thanks for sharing the trouble with us on the community forums. I understand it's crucial to have a connection at home. There are a few options that we have to start your services. The first is I can open a request to close that account for us, and we can start your account. The other is to transfer ownership of the account from the previous owner to your name. This would allow you to use all the same equipment. Do you have contact with the previous owner? I can have an email sent to you and them for the account ownership transfer. Or the first option I will open a request to have their account closed. Please send us a direct message with your name and serivce address. From there I will get started either path to have your services on asap.
