Power Outage No Internet

We live in an area of Northern CA with no Cell phone service, and rely on Xfinity for internet and all communications. We suffer many power outages in our area (power lines, planned outages, fire danger, etc.) I have backup power (generator and battery backup) but my Xfinity still doesn't provide signal for internet/phone. I see the link stating Xfinity "needs commercial electrical service." I know cable signal can easily be backed up by the internet service provider with backup generators at the service providers location, but it doesn't appear that Comcast wishes to do that. Can you please inform if Comcast is planning on doing that in this area (Marin County.) If not, I will defiantly be forced to switch providers as communication is essential to safety, especially during an emergency. Thanks.

Unfortunately, at this time we do not have the option to do this and rely on your address having power first to be able to restart service after an interruption. We appreciate your feedback and if you require further assistance with your account we can help through direct message. lease include your full name and service address.

Can you please mention why you say that’s not an option?

Any service provider that has a backup generator, or at least a battery, is able to continue service during an outage.  Please mention why Comcast chooses not to, and if you are planning on doing so in the near future.

If there are no plans on doing so we will have no choice but to switch service providers.

 Thank you.

Although you do have generators to give you electricity, there isn't electricity in your neighborhood when power goes out, therefore, our signal can not be sent to your area. Does this clear things up?

I no longer work for Comcast.
