possible scam text from 266278

I received 2 texts from 266278 saying that I need to schedule an appointment for someone to come into my house to "fix an issue with my connection".   How can I determine if this is real or a scam?

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to actual Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

.@user_62a618 Hi there, at times we do send communication about proactive visits but let's make sure of that. Please send us a private message with your full name and service address.

To send the requested information in a private message to Xfinity Support from any Forum page:

  •    Click "Sign In" if that prompt is visible
  •    Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3Q5uBJC
  •    Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  •   The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person", but don't do that.
  •       Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there. As you are typing a drop-down list appears.
  •   Select "Xfinity Support" from the list. An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
  •   Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  •   Press Enter or tap the >icon to send it
