Port forwarding guide is wrong

The guide says https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfi-advanced-settings

It says to click wifi details and edit. But mine is just a static picture of the back of the device.

Hello user_zs1xog. Appreciate you getting us in the loop! To make sure we are on the same page, when you are hitting the "Edit Wi-Fi details" option, it then goes over direct to that picture?

I'm showing you what happens when step "3. Select WiFi details." is followed.

Step 4 becomes impossible because "Select Edit WiFi settings from the pop-up card to edit your WiFi name and password, change security settings and choose whether you hide or broadcast your WiFi name." is not an option from the picture I showed you. The picture I showed you is the fullscreen of what happens on my phone when step 3 is followed.

Here, I'll also upload another photo showing you where I'm tapping on Wifi details from.

Also, for reference, I was able to go into the router settings through 10.0.0.1 and edit them, but I wanted to change the monthly bill from the 24th to the 27th and an agent advised me to not make the payment. This subsequently resulted in me needing to get another router shipped to me. The exact same router was shipped to me and that's my current internet.

However, with this new router, I cannot edit the settings of the wifi without agent help, in 10.0.0.1 or in the app.

With my previous service, even though the router model is the exact same, I was able to edit my wifi settings in 10.0.0.1.

I'm not sure what is causing this issue and NOW customer service doesn't seem to know, either.

@user_zs1xog thank you for all the additional information that is helpful. I found this previous forums post that had similar issues to what you are mentioning: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/xfinity-app/cant-port-forward/644b157d2715675987845b6b

During the troubleshooting you've previously done did you attempt to try these steps:

So I finally figured out *my* solution to the problem

1. Do a complete router reset. Press and hold the reset button for however long it takes to forget everything. I just went for 60 seconds

2. Set up your WiFi via your phone. This gets your router to recognize the device as an admin I guess. (Step found via reddit)

3. Navigate to port forwarding via the chatbot in the app. ("Port forward">Network>Advanced Settings>Port Forwarding)

4. Set up your port

"Set up your Wifi via your phone." I'm not sure how to do this.

I have reset the device. Strangely, the SSID went back to factory, but the password is the same wifi password as before (NOT factory) -- perhaps because tech support changed the SSID and password for me before.

But I do have this other image from my 10.0.0.1 settings showing that my configuration settings request me to use the app, showing that I am locked out of all options:

@user_zs1xog I appreciate the update, and that is a bit strange that the password didn't reset. Typically, with the factory reset it should revert to the original network name and password. Sorry to hear that you're still locked out of the admin settings.

With the mention of setting up WiFi via the phone, I think the OP was referring to setting up your home network through the Xfinity App: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/activate-xfi-gateway-app

- Have you attempted to use the Xfinity Assistant to try port forwarding through there, after signing in? https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/activate-xfi-gateway-app
