Port Forwarding and support
I am trying to set up a simple port forward and have never had so much trouble in all my years. Apparently, this is a common issue but none of the other threads helped so here goes:
I want to run a private DayZ server on my old laptop. It requires port 2302 be open for external access which is a simple process.
I log into the admin tool for the router and select Advanced > Port Forwarding.
I get a message stating I can't do that here but instead go to a link provided.
Follow the link and it tells me use the app.
Open the app and follow the steps and get the "Something unexpected happened" warning. This also happens when accessing the DMZ settings.
Call support yesterday, go through all the simple stuff and no go. Agent says there may be something wrong with my modem so am told tier 2 will call me back shortly to help. Got no call.
Called again today and was told they would be calling me in 10 minutes but an hour later and no call.
This really should not be such an issue since it's just port forwarding which has been around for years. I don't even need get it fixed if they can just put the forward in for me.

@ kylebellamy
Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue.
To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3EqVMu7
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it

So, as a follow-up, the instructions that were given to me via direct message seem to have worked pretty perfectly.
The problem I'm having now is that even though I have the correct port forwarded, I can't seem to find my server listed in the DayZ browser which is where it should be.
Does anyone here have any experience with running a DayZ server on an Xfinity router?
I've checked the startup bat file and that seems to be set up correctly. There must be something in the router settings that I'm just not catching.
A lot of the videos that talk about how to do this, they have different routers and apparently more access to things that I do currently. Or not and I'm just missing it. Lol
