Please provide the recording now fraudulently got signed up to plan I kept iterating I didn't need during a call for another service change

Hello Xfinity,

Please provide me with the copy of the recording I've had with one of your representative. I will provide you with the details once you in a DM.

I usually don't get emotional easily but I'm absolutely livid right now.

I called the customer support to change another home plan, agent asked if I wanted to change to xfinity phone plan. I said no thanks, I have no plan to switch. Agent says ok, but they still need my phone number for finishing my original plan change enrollment. Sounds good. Then, they asked for my date of birth, social security, seems fine. Then, they started asking for phone IMEA which got weird, I asked what's this for and they kept saying they needed to finish the original transaction. I told them, clearly I don't want a cellphone plan change and is this what it's for? They said no. So I kept going. Finally, they asked for my card number is needed for the plan and I gave it to them. Suddenly, I got a email saying "You're ready for new xfinity cell plan, hit accept". At that point, I was shocked, telling agent that I said I didn't want a phone plan. They said, but, I thought you wanted one. I told the agent, specifically, I had no plan of changing my phone plan, now you're fraudulently signing me up to one. They just kept telling me to hit accept on the email. I told them they need to stop this now, and asked them repeatedly to let me talk to their manager but they refused. I was yelling at that point, for like 5 minute but they just said I need to hit accept. Got furious, ended the call right there. Right afterward, I got an email saying order confirmed on cell plan with the bill. To be claear, I never hit the accept button.

I don't get it, this is all recorded as far as I know. Never did I say I wanted the cell plan, in fact, the opposite. Multiple times I don't want the phone plan. This has all been recorded. I called the same 1-800 xfinity customer support number but now, the wait time is like an hour, waited like 30 minute but gave up. Seriously, is this a normal behavior of xfinity? This is borderline, or case of fraud and at the very least violation of basic consumer protection violation. I need the transactions fixed and the recordings from the call asap.

Ok, now I am confirming on my page that I've been enrolled without my consent, or rather my clear rejection. Please provide me with the recording and resolution as soon as possible. Thank you.

Hello @user_f08b01 I am very sorry to hear about your experience with our agent. No one should be signing people up for services without their consent. While we cannot provide any recording of the interaction to you our team would be happy to escalate this to our Xfinity Mobile Corporate Escalations to get it removed and reversed for you. Please send us a direct message with your full name and service address to get started.

@XfinityMatthew

Hi Matthew, this incident has been reported to the FCC, California Public Utility Commission's consumer's affair division, and the country district office's consumer unit. I am gravely concerned with the fact that your agent has highly confidential info including my name, address, date of birth, social security, my cellphone IMEA, social security number, and my full credit card information and zero hesitation to use these information for their own benefit. The levels of security risk, the power of misuse capable with this information is perilous and I have already witnessed a instance of its damage. I am also sending a statutory notice of violation for Consumer Legal Remedies Act to Comcast/Xfinity. Please provide a certified electronic or legal address to send for the confirmation of it's receipt. I will also provide more information in the DM. Thank you.

@user_f08b01 Once a FCC complaint is officially filed our team is hands-off the account at that point. But the Corporate Escalations team I mentioned in my last message is the team that handles those FCC complaints. So if you still want us to open a ticket with them, we can mention you filed with the FCC already and the ticket may get you resolution and an assigned agent to contact you sooner. We will await your DM if you'd like to proceed with that.

Not seeing anything on our end yet. Did you DM me personally? If so we won't see those in the chat program we work on.  When it asks for the name of whom to DM you will want to put "Xfinity Support" that sends it to our whole team. You can click the link in the instructions above for a step by step with pictures if needed.
