Plant extension

I moved into a new house and have been trying to get Xfinity service for more than 6 weeks. Two techs have visited and stated that I need a plant extension. I have received a note that they were coming to mark underground lines but nothing happens. I have had appointments that then are coming to put in the cable, then nothing. I have another open ticket for a Monday appointment but I am concerned that nothing will happen again.

Has anyone figured out how to get a simple answer of Xfinity will do the plant extension or not? I need the service and am about to jump to Starlink if I can’t get an answer from Xfinity.

Hello, @user_qhlzfi sorry for the delays in getting service to your new home. To set the proper expectation a plant extension is not something that happens quickly. It requires construction planning, finance approval, permit gathering, and equipment gathering just to name a few steps. I would be happy to check where you are in this process and continue to provide support. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? To send a direct message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon

Click "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon

In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support"

As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.

Press Enter to send it.
