Planned Power Outage Goes Wrong

I have had no issues with my internet or Xfinity since we have used them here for the past two years. Then Xfinity scheduled a power outage on my street to work on cable wires. I have not had internet for two days now due to Xfinity working in cable wires and now my internet is down. I have called and chatted with customer service and they say they don’t no why my gateway isn’t on but it’s clear that it all happened directly after the power outage. Same things have happened to others in my neighborhood as well.

Customer service is sending a technician out to see what the issue is but say I could get charged for that service which is wild because it happened after they worked on the street cables.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hey there! Thank you for reaching out to us here at the Xfinity Community Forums with your concerns regarding frequent service interruptions in your area. As someone who works from home myself, I know just how important it is to have a stable internet connection throughout the day. I'd like to look further into your issues. Could you please send me a DM as follows:

To send a direct message:

  • Ensure you are first signed in, then you will see a chat box icon at the top right of your page. Click that or follow this link here: https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
  • From there, click the 'New Message' icon. In the 'To' field, type 'Xfinity Support'.
  • Type your message in the text area that appears at the bottom of the window and hit enter to send. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond.

To expedite your request, we ask that you please include your name, the account holder name (if different), and the service address.
