Plan Changed

Why did my plan change without any input? I tried to activate a new modem today, but for some reason, after my first call with a representative, I find my plan has been upgraded without my consent. There appears to be no way for me to put it back to the way it was by myself either. The website and customer support system (nothing against the people themselves) is so obtuse and difficult to use that it almost feels purposefully malicious, and it feels like my best bet is to simply cancel my service.

If anyone has any idea what has happened, please let me know.
