Phone service

When I first moved in my apartment last year, I always had two bars on my phone. I sit directly in front of the router in my living room and I only have one bar and I also can’t receive calls outside of my apartment. What’s going on with the Wi-Fi in my area and why is this happening? I’m missing calls that are important. I’m a senior and need good phone service.

Hello there, @user_9fy43q! Thank you for creating a post regarding your phone service concerns. I'd love to help however I can today! Please avoid creating more than one post about the same concern or issue as this is considered duplicate posting and is against our Forums policy. Not to worry! I've merged your two posts so that all responses will be in the same place :)

To start, and to clarify, is your cell phone service through Xfinity Mobile? If you're describing the vertical bars that get increasingly taller from left to right on your phone screen, those show your cell signal strength (this is not the same as your WiFi connection). If you're describing the curved bars getting bigger from bottom to top, that's reflective of your Internet connection on the device. However, unless specifically dealing with the WiFi Calling feature, it sounds like you'd like to address phone call issues away from the home. This is why we'd like to confirm who your cell service is through, when you get a chance to respond. Thank you!
