Phone and security system

Why do our phones have constant static? Cost $100 just for service man and still same problem. It also kicks out our security.

Hello user_qugez1, thank you for reaching out here in our Xfinity Community forum. We appreciate you and your time. I am here to try and assist. When you say your phones, are you talking about mobile, or landline? You also mentioned it kicks out your security, can you give some detail about that?

It's our landline phone that also works along with our security company so that when our phone isn't working, it will not send a message to the security Co if someone breaks in. I think our outside wiring from Comcast may need to be replaced as that's what is also causing the static in the line.

Thank you for sharing, @user_qugez1! I understand the urgency with getting all of your calls, especially from your security provider. When did you have a technician out? Do you hear the static during the duration of the calls or does it come in at a certain point in the call?

Static is constant, so much that it's useless to use it most of the time.

I am sorry to hear that, @user_qugez1.  We will get to the bottom of this. You may be right that a line needs to be replaced. Has the modem or EMTA and the phone line from the modem to the wall jack or phone been replaced?

The serviceman replaced the modem, don't know if it was necessary or not as it didn't help.
